Background
The national Junior League service organization had become well known for the popular cookbooks published by its local chapters. Although the cookbooks had a loyal local sales history, the Houston chapter wanted to elevate the tone and quality of its cookbook and make it a must-read for cookbook collectors.
Solution
“Stop and Smell the Rosemary,” now in its third printing with sales exceeding 150,000, was Hill’s answer to the Junior League’s challenge. Hill designed all aspects of the 296-page hardcover bookfrom the size and name to the overall look and feel of the book. The book has won numerous awards, including the Tabasco Hall of Fame Award for Outstanding Community Cookbook, Benjamin Franklin Award, Small Press Best Cookbook Award and the Writer’s Digest Self-Publisher Award.
