Full flowering of a luxury hotel’s image |

Background
A five-star hotel in the important Japanese industrial center of Kobe, the Hotel Okura wanted to update its image and appeal to an international clientele. They wanted a dignified, yet dynamic new identity that would form the foundation of their rebranding effort. The new mark also needed to work in a number of different applications.
Solution
The Hill solution was a graphic symbol in the form of a hibiscus flower (a traditional symbol of Kobe) containing a second flower that symbolizes the hotel. The image is versatile enough to be applied easily to everything from china to linens to carpeting, providing additional reinforcement to the identity.
